The highlights are COLAs of 3% (8-months, with $250 ratification bonus), 2%, 2%, 2%, 2%. We’ve kept our Medical Stipend for 3 years, and on the 3rd year there’s an additional wage increase for us to build up a bank of $1,000 each year to be able to save up for the Medical Stipend in each subsequent year (4th and 5th year). This creative solution works for all full time employees and part-time employees will be very close.
The sticking point yesterday was how the HSA is paid out. We were able to keep the HSA as it currently is for the next 4 years. On the last year of the contract, the HSA is gong to be paid out in monthly installment for the last 6 months of the year. We recognize that health care that is not affordable/accessible is no health care at all, and feel like we have time to find a solution by the time this change takes place.
