AFSCME Workers Day at the Capitol

We do not have be passive recipients of legislation that will affect our contract and working conditions. Lobby our representitives at the Capital in Salem for labor rights.
We will be meeting at 10am for a brief training at the Salem Family YMCA, 685 Court St. NE, Salem, OR before walking over to the Capitol.
Our 2024 Legislative Short Session priority is to ensure that worker safety and security are at the forefront of our leaders' concerns. We want to take over the capitol and let legislators know that our members, our work, and our families matter to the state. February 19th is a state holiday, and we want to take advantage of this time by filling the Capitol with AFSCME green!
We will be setting up small group meetings with individual legislators throughout the day, and there will be training provided to help you share your story and maximize your impact. Sign up below to take part in meetings with legislators and be sure to fill out your voting address so we can match you with your representatives.
Carpooling options will be available. Depending on demand, the council will provide vans from our offices so please let us know if you would like to ride with us! The signups will determine when and where we provide shuttle service to the capitol - so please register ASAP.
