Longevity Day

April 8th, 2026
We have heard from management that the City is "philosophically opposed" to the concept of longevity pay. We disagree. We know long-term employees provide institutional knowledge, continuity of service and increased efficacy. We were joined by our members Scott Whitson, Sarah Johnson, Jonathan Rader, Joan Extrom, Pete Meyers and James Green who have over 100 years of experience in our bargaining unit. They helped us tell management why longevity pay is a necessary part of a fair contract and what it would mean to them.
