Standing up for Safety

After the City failed to take responsibility for sending one of our members into unsafe working conditions, we took action. To bolster the strength of our grievance we had members and non-members from across the city sign petitions demanding that this never happen again and to ensure our member would be treated better. We took this one step further and brought our members with us to hand deliver the petition to HR. We had over 150 signatures and more than 2 dozen members joined us going into City Hall.

We're happy to report that this action got our member the results they needed! Less than 2 days after this action we received a response to our grievance in which the City took responsibility for what happened and granted us the other remedies we requested.
