Union Returns to City Council

For the second time this summer, our members filled the Council chambers.

Member after member gave testimony that held every Councilor’s attention — about what this contract means, and about what it is like to work for the City of Corvallis right now. We also handed out our Strike FAQ to members in attendance.

The effect was immediate. Our bargaining team had sent management a full mediation package on August 14th. At 9:30 the next morning — hours after the chambers emptied — the City’s bargaining team responded.

They did not move. They put no additional money on the table. But they answered, and they answered fast. That happened because members showed up.

One week later, voting opened on strike authorization.
